Spectrum Speed Test

The speed test below runs against Cloudflare's global network, so results reflect true internet performance — not a boosted number to a local mirror.

How to run an accurate Spectrum speed test

  1. Use a wired connection when possible — Wi-Fi caps below your plan speed.
  2. Close streaming apps, video calls, and downloads before starting.
  3. Run three tests and take the median; single tests fluctuate.

What Spectrum speeds should look like

  • 300 Mbps plan: 280–320 Mbps down, 10–20 Mbps up, 15–30 ms latency.
  • 500 Mbps plan: 480–540 Mbps down, 20–30 Mbps up.
  • 1 Gbps plan: 900–950 Mbps down (wired only), 35 Mbps up.

If wired speeds are under 70% of your plan for a full week, request a credit or a truck roll.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Spectrum speed lower than my plan?

Wi-Fi, network congestion, or line issues. Test wired first; if wired is also slow, request a truck roll.

Is this the same as Spectrum's official speed test?

No — this test runs against Cloudflare, which is a neutral endpoint. Spectrum's test runs against their own servers, so results can look faster than real-world performance.
