What each metric actually means
Reports (Last 30 min) — sliding window. Spikes signal a fresh outage. Reports Today — running total since local midnight. Cities Affected (48h) — unique cities with any confirmed outage activity in the last two days. Above 15 is unusually high. Trend — Spiking / Steady / Falling. Compares last 30 min to the prior hour. Falling means the outage is winding down.
The 24-hour timeline
The chart shows report volume per hour for the last 24 hours. Real outages look like a sharp vertical spike followed by a slow decay as reports trickle in from stragglers. Cable modem storms after a power blip look like a shorter, symmetric bell curve. Ongoing degradations look like a raised plateau.

Frequently asked questions
How often does the tracker refresh?
Every 30 seconds via SSE push. If the stream drops, it falls back to polling every 10 seconds. No matter what, you're never looking at data more than a minute old.
Where does the report data come from?
Aggregated from public outage reporting sources and direct user submissions to this site. Every entry is a real user report — never generated, never randomized.
